Imagine you are in an epic world where adventure waits around every turn, both heroes and villains alike following your every move, and the world on the brink of destruction.  Now, imagine that same world, only made of legos, what do you have?  A fun game with a top notch story and well acted voices.

Now, I know what you’re thinking, the story and voices are taken directly from the movie!  Of course they are, but that’s what makes them great!  If you’re an avid fan of Lord of the Rings, the familiar dialogue really makes you feel immersed into the game, despite the lego look.  This all adds up to one conclusion, this is the best Lord of the Rings game out there!

That’s right, I said it!  Granted, I’m only about 1/3rd of the way through the story itself, just finishing The Fellowship of the Ring area, but I can assure you that this has plenty of content to keep you busy for hours and hours.  Currently, my completion level is about 11%.  Each area you go to has side-quests, puzzles, unlock-able characters,  and collectibles, making the reply value pretty high, even for a lego game.

The best part is the open world.  While it doesn’t feel epic if you travel from one place to another outside of the story points, as you can go from Hobbiton to Bree to the Mines of Moria within a few minutes, each area feels amazing in it’s own right.  The first time you step into Rivendell, you are tasked with going from the room Frodo wakes up in to the area where the fellowship will be formed and you realize, this game has more detail than the movies themselves!

So to bring this to a close, the game is amazingly detailed and you quickly forget you’re playing a lego game, at least I did.  If you’re a fan of the movies, this is a must play and I suggest you get your hands on it and get ready to play though The Lord of the Rings in a way that hasn’t previously been done.
